MSMEs are the backbone of Indian economy and facilitate job creation in backward and far flung areas, balance economic development, inclusive growth and are the laboratory of entrepreneurship. Therefore, Government of India has formed a separate Ministry for the speedy development of this crucial segment of our economy.

To promote the marketing of MSME products MSME Development Institute organizes Vendor Development Programmes on regular basis.

The Government of India is committed to provide market support to the MSME sector by way of promoting MSMEs to become the Vendors of Railway, Defence, Public Sector Undertaking, Government Departments etc. The National Vendor Programme is a platform for matchmaking of MSMEs and PSUs, Govt. Department for mutual business development.

The programme includes exhibition of the products and services of MSMEs having ambition to outsource their products to the PSUs, Central/State Governments etc. followed by the concurrent Buyers Sellers meet, Vendor Registration etc.
